My Baby is TWO already!!!!

Yesterday was Luke's second birthday. I can't believe how fast the time has gone and how much he has grown!! He is such a wonderful little man. He is VERY funny and keeps us laughing all the time. We are so blessed to have him in our lives. His big brother Austin is so great with him and Luke thinks he hung the moon! He is in the copycat stage and does EVERYTHING that his big brother does. He, of course, has no idea that he is only 2 and proceeds to scare us to death with his "copycat" behavior. Just the other day he wanted to try his hand at skateboarding like his big brother and did a face-plant which caused him to laugh hysterically. I guess he is tough because he has a big brother to wrestle with!

Today we had a party for him at his school and went to dinner with his Aunt and cousins this evening. The real party is in a couple of weeks.

Luke was born a month early but arrived healthy at 10:55pm, 6pounds 3 ounces, 19.5 inches AND ON HIS GREAT GRANDMOTHER'S BIRTHDAY TOO! By the time we left the hospital he was down to 5 1/2 pounds. He was so tiny it was almost scary, preemie clothes were even huge on him! Let's just say he has caught up.

I thought it would be fun to show everyone pictures from his birth and some recent ones too. I hope you enjoy them!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUKE (AND NANA TOO!) WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

Daddy and Big Brother seeing Luke for the first time...my sister-in-law (Tara) was brave enough to come into the operating room with me for my c-section...My husband is NOT big on gore;)

I love the following 2 that my mom took when he was 9 days old! (please ignore the fact that I had NO makeup on and, apparently, hadn't even brushed my hair!!!)

Dallas Arboretum Mini Sessions

I have had quite a bit of interest in the Arboretum Mini-Sessions so I have picked a couple of days. I will be booking sessions for Monday, March 31st and Tuesday, April 1st. (I picked a Monday and Tuesday because these are both children's days at the arboretum, so there will be other activities out there for the kids on those days as well.) If you have never been to the Dallas Arboretum, now is your chance! The garden is absolutely GORGEOUS this time of year!!! It always takes my breath away when I see it. We are so blessed to have such a beautiful garden in our city.

Here's the scoop:
30 Minute session
1-complimentary 5x7
$75 Session Fee
(This is good for up to 3 people. Additional people are $15 each.)

These are the type of photographs that are great for Mother's Day gifts...Grandmothers just LOVE them!

The number of session times available is extremely limited as the sessions will only take place from 9am through noon both days. Call quickly to reserve your session time. Payment is due at the time of booking.

Any Interest in Mini-Sessions at the Arboretum Next Month?

The Dallas Arboretum has always been a favorite place for me to shoot at and I know it is a favorite for my clients. I am considering offering a day or two of mini-sessions at the Dallas Arboretum this year. This will not be like what is offered by "another" photographer that shoots out there (no disrespect to that person) but they will be shorter than the regular session ( about 20-30mins long) and you will have a good selection of photographs to choose from. I was curious about how many of you are interested. Leave a comment here or email me to let me know what you think...I am thinking around the end of March.

And The Winner Is!

Mr. Oltmann!!!! He received the most "votes" in the Be My Valentine Contest. He had received 109 comments by Midnight tonight. He has won a Complimentary Wildflower Session and a Signature 8x10. Way to Go!! In close second were the Violi Boys with 99 comments. These two families really worked it and made for a really fun, close contest. Since the contest was so close and I know that both families put forth such a great effort I am going to award The Violi Boys with a Signature 8x10 print from their next session as well.

I had a great time seeing all of the comments come in and I really enjoyed reading all of the sweet things that everyone had to say about your children.

Thank you to everyone who participated, thank you for trusting me to take your children's portraits and THANK YOU FOR ALL OF THE KIND WORDS ABOUT MY PHOTOGRAPHY!

I will say it again...I have the BEST clients, I am SO lucky!!!

Thanks again and HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!

Cy's Birthday, He Was a Dallas Maverick For a Day!

Check this out!
One of my clients bought a package for her son for his birthday that made him a Dallas Maverick for a Day. It was the coolest birthday present ever! The day started out with a trip to the AA Center for his contract signing, then he was given all of the appropriate gear and uniforms for the day. He spent the morning working out with the team and getting to know them. As you can imagine, being so close to players he loves and actually being treated like one of them was an AWESOME experience for an 11 year old. He also got to go to lunch with his favorite player Devin Harris. Later in the afternoon he went back to the training facility and spent the afternoon giving interviews, attending a news conference with head coach Avery Johnson and getting warmed up for the game. I was so impressed by the way the players treated him. They took active roles in helping him, guarding him and letting him practice guarding them. They were all so nice and friendly and really made this the experience it was meant to be!

When game time arrived he was introduced as one of the players and he got to run in just like them and he got high fives all around from the other players. During the game he sat right next to the players bench on the floor and was able to listen in on what the coach had to say during timeouts. He, of course, went back to the locker room during half time as well.

After the game several of the players gave him their shoes and signed them for him. You should have seen him when we went back to get him with all of the shoes tied together around his neck, carrying his big bag of gear and his signed mavericks basketball. The team was so generous with all of the "goodies" that they gave him.

After the game we headed back to the W Hotel for an after party in his room with all of his friends that attended the game. He had some fun decorating the cake table with all of the shoes the players gave him as you will see.

As you can imagine, this was an amazing experience for me as well!!! I was given a press pass for the game and had unbelievable access. Thank you Sherwood for asking me to be a part of another great event for your family!!! You are So wonderful to me! Your son is such an amazing young man, I know you couldn't be more proud of him!

Happy Birthday CY!!!!!

Surprise!

Last Friday (the 1st) I received a call from a dear client who asked if I could come photograph a Surprise 40th Birthday party that was being put on by her friend's husband for his wife that night. It was a wonderful, intimate event that took place in a private dining room at the elegant Mansion on Turtle Creek. The guest of honor was very surprised as you will see in the photos below. Her parents even flew in for the festivities and her children made a surprise appearence after dinner just in time for cake. It was a wonderful evening full of fun, laughter, love, friendship and VERY funny stories. Mike, you did a great job putting together a beautiful party and pulling off the surprise! I am so honored to have been asked to photograph your event.

Happy Birthday Mariana!
